What's new:
- Updated RCPA SPIA for Reporting archive to include computable version of the "RCPA SPIA Microbiology Subset of Organisms_Dec 2025.xlsx" data set which includes RCPA SPIA SNOMED codes and metadata used for reporting on microorganisms study results.
- Added link to Russell McDonell's Australian Healthcare Identifiers generation and validation tools
The RCPA SPIA Computer-processable Resources is a collection of two ZIP archives which contains the computer-processable versions of the RCPA SPIA resources that can be downloaded from the NCTS Web site (with perhaps some delay before the version provided here is available) RCPA SPIA Resources as "RCPA - Pathology Terminology and Information Models and draft FHIR reference set".

The RCPA SPIA-defined SNOMED Code Lookup Tool allows the user to select an Orderable Test from the RCPA SPIA-defined collection, optionally filter the list by Discipline and by a test name-based filter expression, and view the Discipline, the SNOMED Code, the RCPA Preferred Term, the list of RCPA Synonyms and the list of Specimen codes for the selected Orderable Test.
The RCPA SPIA-defined LOINC Code Lookup Tool allows the user to select a Reportable Test from the RCPA SPIA-defined collections, optionally filtering the list by LOINC code, Discipline and several attribute filter expressions, and view the Discipline, the LOINC Code, the RCPA Preferred Term, the list of RCPA Synonyms and numerous other attributes.
The RCPA SPIA Coding Performance Reporter accepts HL7 v2 Orders or Results messages, validates them for conformance with the expectations of the RCPA SPIA Guidelines for e-Requesting or Reporting and provides the validation report for on-line viewing and for download for off-line viewing.
The RCPAQAP Validator accepts a HL7 v2 Orders or Results message, validates it for conformance with the expectations of the ADRM 2021.1, RCPA SPIA Guidelines and NPAAC RCCR5 Conformance Profiles, and provides the validation report for on-line viewing and for download for off-line viewing.
The RCPAQAP Validator should be available for public access soon.
The collection of Australian Healthcare Identifier generation and validation tools, developed by Mr. Russell McDonell and hosted at the IHE Australia site, can be used to generate and validate Australian Healthcare Identifiers including patient identifiers (Medicare Numbers, DVA Numbers and IHIs), provider/prescriber identifiers (Medicare Provider Numbers, Medicare PBS Prescriber number, Provider AHPRA Registration Numbers and HPI-I Numbers) and organisation identifiers (Hospital PBS Provider Numbers and HPI-O Numbers).
The NPAAC RICR5 Standards-conformant HL7 v2 Order Message Generator allows the user to select one or more Orderable Tests from the RCPA SPIA-defined collection, optionally choose from the list of synonym Terms and synonym Specimen names, and generate a HL7 v2 Order message that conforms to the expectations of the ADRM 2021.1, RCPA SPIA Guidelines and NPAAC RICR5 Conformance Profiles, and provides the generated HL7 v2 Order message for on-line viewing and for download for off-line use.
The NPAAC RICR5 Conformant Results Message Generator allows the user to select one or more Orderable Tests from the RCPA SPIA-defined Requesting Terminology Set, for each choose one or more reportable tests from the RCPA SPIA-defined Reporting Terminology Sets, then generate a HL7 v2 Results message that conforms to the expectations of the ADRM 2021.1, RCPA SPIA Guidelines and the NPAAC RCCR5 Conformance Profiles, the Pathology Report which conforms to the requirements of the RCPA SPIA Report Rendering Design Checklist - Comprehensive, and provides the generated HL7 v2 Results message and the PDF Report for on-line viewing and for download for off-line use . An archive containing an example HL7 v2 results message, the corresponding pathology report and the corresponding validation report is also provided for review.
